The Lord's Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13 - (9) “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, (10) your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. (11) Give us today our daily bread. (12) And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. (13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
God:
- The address to God - vs. 9
- The holiness of God - vs. 9
- The will of God - vs. 10
Us:
- Provide our needs - vs. 11
- Forgive our sins - vs. 12
- Save us from temptation - vs. 13
Luke 11:4 - (4) Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.And lead us not into temptation.’ ”
Matthew 6:13 - (13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
2 Corinthians 12:10 - (10) That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
