I don’t think it’s out of line to say that humans, in general, like to do what they want. We are creatures with free will, given by God, and we like to use it to do what we want how we want. It also doesn’t help that we have access to so many amenities in this country, so we really can have anything we want, if you have the resources for it.
But the Bible calls us to a different way of life, and it’s very counter-cultural, but it’s how Jesus lived too.
