Battle Plan Sermon Notes

Sermon 1 of our series titled "The Final Battle"

Ephesians 6:12 - (12) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the

rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world

and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Matthew 21:1-11 - (1) As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, (2) saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. (3) If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.” (4) This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: (5) “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’” (6) The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. (7) They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. (8) A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. (9) The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” (10) When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” (11) The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Zechariah 9:9 - (9) Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!  Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey,

Genesis 1:15 - (15) And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Matthew 23:13a - (13a) “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!

Matthew 23:16a - (6a) “Woe to you, blind guides!

Matthew 23:33 - (33) “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being

condemned to hell?

Ephesians 6:11 - (11) Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand

against the devil’s schemes.

Matthew 16:24-26a - (24) Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. (25) For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. (26a) What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
